Description

With a story that is loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Tony and Maria find love despite their affiliations with rival gangs in 1950s New York. As the Jets and the Sharks go head-to-head, they must find a way to make peace before the violence escalates. Director Steven Spielberg has won three Academy Awards and has 14 nominations. The film is an adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim.
